“Twitter Blue” confirmed: custom app icon, themes and more for $ 3 per month
Twitter Blue is real and at least one person has already signed up.
Earlier this month, Jane Manchun Wong announced that Twitter will announce a new paid tier for its social media service called Twitter Blue. The supposed service would cost $ 2.99 per month and would include premium features like the ability to cancel a tweet.
Wong also revealed that Twitter is apparently working on a tiered subscription service, of which the $ 2.99 Twitter Blue is said to be only a part. Scroll will be part of a more expensive level. When Twitter acquired Scroll early last week, it was mentioned that the service would later be part of Twitter’s subscription offerings. I guess we now have a better idea of what they will look like.
Today, Wong says Twitter has confirmed Twitter Blue through the App Store because it’s listed as an in-app purchase. According to screenshots posted on Twitter, the service will activate features that are exclusive to users, such as color themes, custom app icons, and reader mode.

It’s still unclear when Twitter Blue will officially roll out to users, but it looks pretty close. I’ve checked and haven’t seen Twitter Blue as an in-app payment option yet, so it looks like it’s still in beta or only available to certain users like Wong.
